I have about 9k to work with because I sold my old POS for 4.5k and my dad matched it for my birthday.
I really want a truck but gas is going full retard right now and idk if it'll ever be low enough to justify 12 mpg when I have an $8/hr job lmao.
Whats a good first car? Like good looking/fuel economic/fast etc.

if you want a truck but don't want the V8 gas mileage go for something useful and fun to own like a used Xterra or Trailblazer or something of the sort. useful, 4WD, decent power at least enough to get up and go. the xterra will get you a good 20 or so MPG on the highway and probably reasonable mileage in the city.

i'd go with that instead of some sports car thats probably been beat on by the previous owner, not to mention you cant drive it in bad weather

Get a toyota. They are good, cheap, reliable cars, especially hilux's. Ontop of that they also hold their value quite well.
