    Tricep extensions: close grip?

    Hey guys,

I've incorporated EZ curl bar tricep extensions into my triceps routine. Just wondering what you guys think about close grip vs. shoulder width grip???

With a straight bar I alternate between close grip and shoulder width grip. And really any other grip between the two. With a curl bar I do only close grip triceps extensions as shoulder width grip gives awkward grip angle. It feels like my shoulders more involved.

Both bars have the same effect on triceps. The only difference being that the curl bar takes away pronation pressure from elbows.

Whatever grip if that allows everything to be in line (wrist, elbow. shoulder), that is the strongest point.

JUst re read that, and that would be shoulder width

My experience is with lying triceps extensions with an EZ curl bar on either a flat or decline bench (much prefer the decline variation, more ROM and better stretch).

I like to take a close grip on the bar as it provides more ROM and feels much more comfortable.
