UGH
I cut my hand open on Saturday. Two stitches = no lifting for 10 days.
Double cardio time.
Though I hit 224.2lbs this morning.

I always thought that the body worked on a different schedule. So, what you're seeing daily is water/sodium weight, but your weekly weigh-in is the one that counts because that's where your body's rhythm is set.
Like I've had days where I've gone from 229 to 236 in a day, not even eating that much, yet the next week I'd be down two pounds from the previous.
Maybe I'm just silly!Proud member of Team Ogre

Morning all. I've been not up with this thread as much here lately. I had a refeed day yesterday and ate hibachi last night. Was up a couple of pounds today. It was so totally worth it. Best meal I've ate in ages. About to hit the gym in the next 20-30 minutes. I'm going to be good this week and not go overboard on Thanksgiving. I also think I'll skip my refeed this Sunday as well. I need to make faster progress. I want to be done sometime in my lifetime. LOL
Despite my lack of progress on the scale the past few weeks, I still feel like I am leaning out.Aug of 2010 - 330 lbs <--- Never Forget

I've been heavily, heavily restricting calories in preparation for T-day. Looking forward to it! I'm the lightest I've been in at least a year, if not more, and I'm starting to see some crazy definition in my back. Can't wait for weigh-in tomorrow. I'm ahead of schedule on my way to 160lbs by Feb 1st!

Strictly speaking, it can't be muscle growth if you're in a deficit. On the catabolic/anabolic balance your body is more catabolic while you're in a deficit and putting on 2lbs of muscle in two days isn't likely. It's almost certainly just water weight. It sounds like you're getting good results though, and if you keep it up you'll see results. Good job!

I experience a similar phenomenon - I've been "lifting" for >6 years but only started doing a rigorous training routine a few months ago. Despite being on an aggressive cut (12lbs and counting in ~3 months) my lifts have all shot up. Your muscles can get stronger without getting bigger and that's common among noobs. In any case all we can do is keep cutting and keep lifting!

Not true, but I do agree that 2lbs wasnt muscle growth for sure.

Hey gang I haven't posted on here except for when we began, but i've been sending widget my numbers every week, I see we've been making steady progress congrats to all.
I decided to backload my carbs and most of my fat yesterday and ate some goodies i've been wanting for dinner. I woke this morning jumped on the scale and was .6lbs down from Sunday morning. Even though i knew i was under maintenance i still though i might go up some just because it felt like cheating the whole time. My roommate was just shaking his head and kept asking if i knew what what a diet was.

nope, surprisingly not actually. but it makes me wonder that my actual weight (minus the water weight) has got to be closer to 131 since that was my weight last monday - since there is no way that I've gained weight.....i hate when the scale messes with my head lol

Hey Triggerthug, it can be done trust me. But sacrifices have to be made. Before that dinner i had eaten 30egg whites, 1lb of 3%fat beef, and a cup of broccoli. Macros 205P/7.5C/14F for a total of 976calories. The dinner goodies came in at just under 1300calories which put me 300calories under my RMR of 2509 and 900 under my daily metabolic rate for my activity level on Sunday. IIFYM then enjoy the ride, discipline is the
key.I rep back 100%

After this i'll probably just re-comp until after next summer so I can try to stay as lean as possible then i'll do a real bulk over next winter but even then I probably won't go over 300 cals.
But i'll have to wait & see.
I've never really counted cals on a bulk so I gotta wait & see how my body reacts.

Ive been on a 1000 calorie deficit or more for four days so ive lost a pound for sure. Im going back to a 500 calorie deficit tomorrow for good. I want to keep my muscle and keep losing fat pound by pound. Ive also decided when i run out of bcaas im not going to buy any more and im ditching whey protein too. Just food and a multivitamin for me then.
Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.
