OP-not sure what you are eating but that is a lot of food. The man can support it but hard to believe you thought that was a small amount of food.

6500 is hardly low cals. His numbers just seem that way because everybody thinks that Phil and every other pro eats 10,000 a day. Try and eat 6500 calories and you'll realize that it's quite a bit of food.

True 5-600 grams seems to be pretty standard for pro's based on reading and what they say. 400 grams seems rather excessive considering your bodyweight. 300 would be MORE than plenty.

That's a lot of food. I'd be lucky to get down 5000 calories in a day.

it's more of a "rather safe than sorry" move to go so high in proteins... don't believe the different x grams for y lbs of weight, since there are so many opinions about that

That is massive amounts of food no doubt!
Surprised with the amount of fat 300grams +, in the meal break down I don't see where all that is coming from though.

Has anyone ever read any studies on how much protein can the human body absorb? I have read a few studies one stated around 25-30grams per meal. I don't know how they measure length of meals or when can you absorb that amount again... Another study they tested whey protein which is supposedly which gets digested the fastest (60-90mins if I remember correctly). They measure that 11-14 grams was absorbed by the body in 1hr. So basically they stated if you take a bigger dose of Whey protein than this, it will become expensive waste.

No doubt if you are on the sauce protein synthesis is 50x greater. So I can see how Stan would probably use a lot of the 400grams + of protein. But for a natural I don't see how anything above 300grams could get digested and absorbed if the above studies is anything to go by. So if Stan is getting by on 430 grams of protein per day and on the sauce, someone who is natural would really get by with a lot less?

    Has anyone read anything different?

There was also a mention of BCAA helping with protein absorption, they definitely helped but it was nothing ground breaking.

No one knows exactly what your body is capable of absorbing. Obviously everyone is different because there are so many variables to consider from person to person. I do know that your body will store excess calories whether protein, carbs, or fat as fat. Sometimes excess protein will be converted to glucose.

Also, if you're "on" your body is going to be better at synthesizing protein and you'll be able to use more. However, if you're not "on" there's no reason to be eating 1.5+grams of protein per lb of bodyweight. Carbs are more muscle sparing than protein anyways. Don't get me wrong you NEED protein to build or preserve muscle, but 1-1.25 grams per lb of body weight is sufficient to build on. You MIGHT bump that to 1.5 grams per lb if you're cutting hard.
