i prefer doing skulls with my hands about a hands width apart (the inner grips of an EZ bar), it helps to lock the elbows in place during the movement to further isolate the tri's

I echo this as well. As bodyfat % drops, I find this really brings out the medial head in the triceps. Skullcrushers are the only move that really hits this part for me.

Whichever grip aligns your forearms with your upper arm while keeping your elbows close to your head. Usually that will be the inner grip of the EZ bar but for very broad people you may need to go further out.

Probably around 10-12cm apart. That's where I get the best feeling of the exercise working my tri's.

I prefer chest width, as I seem to be able to get the most power out of the movement while maintaining elbow tuck this way.

i think thats just a matter of preference. i personally prefer to use the straight bar for skulls than the ez bar. dont get me wrong, i use the ez bar, but only every so often, i usually stick to the straight bar because it's actually easier on my wrists. if you're using the ez bar, then i would say grab the inside portion of the bar where it starts bending. thats usually where i grab it when i use that bar. when i use the straight bar, it's probably between 6-12 inches apart i would say. but find a grip that you're comfortable with.

How far is the grip on just a normal straight barbell?
