Which is harder: Engineering School or Med School?

So today I was having an argument with my irl misc friend at school and I was saying medical school is harder (which may be because I am in pre-med myself) and he was saying engineering school is harder (he is studying to become an engineer.) Please state what you fellow brah's think.

Engineering requires a lot of creativity and thinking outside the box, while med school has loads of memorization.

Neither is a walk in the park though, massive workloads in both degrees.

engineering doesn't have a "school" like law or medicine.

In terms of time: medical school is 4 years, an MS in engineering is 2 or 1.5 years. Medical residency is 3 to 5 years. A PhD in engineering can be from 1 to 4 years, all depending how hard you work on it. And then for medical fellowship, I don't think anything engineering wise is similar.
    Thats life, son!

Are we really comparing undergrad engineering to med school?

If you are talking PhD engineering vs med school I doubt any miscers could even comment but I'd say its a fair assumption to say that any science/math based PhD will blow med school away in terms of challenge.

    Medical school.

4 years of under grad, 4 years of med school, then 2 years of residency.

brb 10 years of school before you become a doctor. I've seen engineers graduate in 3.

PhD level engineering will be much, much, much harder than med school. Some undergrad engineering degrees will probably be harder than med school too. The workload will probably be greater in med school, but the actual intelligence needed to complete an engineering degree with high standing is probably higher than a medical degree. So I guess it depends on your definition of harder, more mentally challenging, or more work.

depends on the engineering school. A Top 10 school for any engineering major exceeds most med schools in difficulty, but generally requires more "busy work"/memorization etc.

source: I go to such an engineering school and have many friends from here now going to med school
