Hey everyone, I'm new to BB and this is my first post.
Right now I'm 17 and will be 18 on the 24th of November. Currently my height is just a little over 5'9 I would say 5'9.5. I wish I could get taller by an inch or two but since I'm almost 18 I doubt it. What do you guys think?

5'5 Here. Just lets my progress show faster. Makes the taller ones jealous. Here, take it from Lee Priest. Although he prob has no idea about proportions it was still funny to hear.

Guys, I know it depends upon genetics but to what extent? I mean I have surpassed my siblings who are both older than me my brother is 5'8 and is four years older than me and my sister is 5'4 or 5'5 and is 2 years older than me. My grandfather(dad's dad) is 6'1 by the way. I don't want to sound desperate and rude but if anyone could please give me a bold prediction considering the facts I have provided about my family.

I turned 18 in June. I was 6'0" at this point last year, 6'0.5" around Feb. 2011 and now I'm 6'1".
I don't do anything specific for growth. I did a lot of swimming and basketball but they didn't do that much. I had my growth spurt during a summer holiday when I was just lying on the sofa the whole day, watching TV and chilling with friends. Honestly though, anything can happen when it comes to height. The only thing you can do to get some idea of your remaining growth is to have your doctor check your growth plates to see if they have sealed or not.

WINDSOFCHANGE, I'm sorry but there is no such thing as a BOLD answer in this case. It is simply impossible to predict your exact height purely on the basis of the information you have provided us about your parents' height(s).
I am telling you as of right now, I expect you to remain within the 5'9-5'10 range and that is it. If you are expecting a definite answer, you will not get it here.
As stated the only way to get a scientific estimation is to have an x-ray taken of your hand/wrist to determine your bone and by examining your growth plates and carpal bone development.
On another note, do not feel bad about being 5'9" tall. This is a very average height and you will not be discriminated in the world for this height, you should only 'feelsbadman.jpg' when you are anything below 5'6. 5'9 is no reason to complain.Did you just eat that? :O
