I went 9 for 9 Saturday, pretty sure that's a first. Long day. Two sessions, was there for both. Finished little before 9:30. As always a very well run meet, by Gene.
The title of the meet was RPS HeatWave, VERY appropriate considering how freaking hot it was in the gym!!!
All attempts:
Perhaps one day I will start training my deadlift.....Crom Laughs....

Thanks. Everything just went right for this meet. I peaked perfect for it. The funny thing is my training volume was really down for this meet. First for the bench cause of my shoulders, so only lots of heavy singles, and worked alot of dumbbell floor presses, which I believe is why I hit 450. Squats I basically only did one work set. Started with sets of 5, then sets of 3 up to 630, than a couple doubles, than 3 weeks of singles. Seems to have worked perfectly. I think those were probably the easiest squats I have hit in a meet.
Almost went 710 on the squat and 645 on the dead.Crom Laughs....

Mike, excellent work my man!!! Those squats did look easy!
Was that the first time with wraps? I don't think I saw you train, in the gym, with wraps!
BTW - it was great meeting you, majority of your crew and seeing Alex again! You guys were phenomenal and the support you offered was great. You guys are truly class acts.
Hopefully ill see you again in November?Free Agent

Thanks, they felt easy. I think I probably could have been good for 715-720.
Great meeting you as well, glad you had a good meet. And thanks, I do have some good guys that train with me. I like to surround myself with good and knowledgable people. Troy has been around forever, and I take direction from him. Kevin actually competes in strongman. And Dan competes USAPL, so if he says my depth is good, then I know I am good.
I am debating what to do next. First I need to heal up a bit, little beat up. But Nov might be possible.Crom Laughs....

Decided to do the RPS Insurrection meet in November. I was gonna take some time off, but since the last meet I squatted 705 so easy, I decided to push it some more. (I was planning on retiring once I hit 700).
This was from this past Sunday. Went 620x4. Should have and could have done at least 5 , but I felt my back a bit and decided to cut it at 4. Didn't wanna chance it with my back. Also my back wasn't fully recovered from the previous week, where I did 600x6.

I couldn't make the Nov meet, but trained for the RPS Championships instead.
Wish I had a chance to get a little more on the squat, but I had to take 715 twice. Still 45lb total PR, probably would be higher if I actually did any deadlift training.
