Decided to make the move and take my training to the next level. Been doing some serious research and reading on olympic lifting.
I plan to use this log as a source of motivation and track my progress so I can look back someday and see my progression.
I started lifting casually during college, but didn't really know what I was doing. Basically copied what I saw in the gym, which was pretty poor for the most part - over emphasis of curls etc., and no focus on compound movements and core strength. I learned about starting strength near the end of college, which served as a decent starting platform. I lifted on and off, and lost forward progress due to a sports injury, and lack of motivation to keep going.
I setup a simple gym in the basement with a bench, power rack, and a lifting platform I built. I'm using a Werksan Silver BB.
My goal is strength, pure and simple. I want to maximize my power-to-weigh ratio, with focus on olympic and power lifts.
