Who here uses GameFly? I'm thinking about becoming a member

I did the math and i think it would be cost effective to rent games from gamefly, $22 and i can rent any 2 games per month, i usually get bored playing a game i payed $60 for after about 1 month 90% of the time (sometimes 2 months). it also has 1 game/month for $15/month

Anyone here got a membership and can tell me if it's the best option?

do it. 99.% of games are not worth buying these days, it is extremely cost effective to just use gamefly. i've used it since 2005 and haven't looked back.

How fast is the shipping? like if I get the membership now, and i choose battlefield 3 which releases the 25th, how long would i have to wait before I get it?
Im in columbus ohio and i think the closest shipping center is philly

sometimes newer games take a bit longer, but as long as you're patient youll be fine.

Ive been a member on and off for about 4 years. I usually cancel my membership if there is going to be a long time between decent games.

I live south of Boston and get my games in about 2 days after I get a confirmation email that it has been shipped.

With newer games, you may wait a few days longer. I don't think I've ever waited longer than 7 business days for any game.

I just put Dark Souls as #1 in my queue yesterday and it was low. I bet it will ship by Friday.

when there's a new game it's kinda random i guess. as long as you have the game on your queue before it's released, you have as good of a chance as anyone else. if you aren't part of the lucky first batch...you're in for a wait. if it's already out, then it will tell you the availability of the game (very low, low, medium, high, something like those) although it's pretty much never a problem except for new AAA games that come out like CoD or something.

theres a trick to it.. a few days before release, clear your queue and only have that one game on your list. ive been 95% successful. if they run out of stock they just email you.

It's a good deal if you're close to a warehouse. I was right in between two of them, so shipping took longer than I would have liked.

sweet, my games shipped on the 6th and they came this morning, not long at all, and Resistance 3 was even in the "low" availability category.

If you want a game on release day, they ship it a few days before the release so you get it on that day.

This is great advice, but I take it a step further. Gamefly allows you to put 10 games in your queue. So every month or so, I go to the "Coming Soon" section, and put games in my queue, well in advance. This works 100% of the time.

For example, I have had Batman Arkham, and MW3 in my queue for a month already.
