thanks izzy
165 wt cl most likely as i've not been in the 140's in since my hs/college years ...
so i was 158 this morning and with a decent water cut i could make 148 but we shall see. Will use knee wraps as raw and raw-raw are the same in NASA ... Sleeves, no sleeves, wraps, no wraps all count as unequipped if you're not wearing ply

Week out from meet
5-3-14 Saturday warmup then practice opener/2nd attempt
Went so well I am debating how conservative to go for openers.
cycling 10 min + mobility/stretching for 10min or so
Squat
5 @ bar, 95, 135
3 @ 165, 195
2 @ 225, 245 belt on
2 @ 265, 275 knee wraps on
285 x 1 Good rep
had a older former PL guy judge depth, clearly made depth when i hit safety rails at the bottom. that bang always adds a pause but still it was ez up; power rack was occupied so meh i can deal with to no bounce outta the bottom in squat rack; on my toes a bit as tends to happen when not squatting frequently.
squat opener bout 280
BP paused
Bar x 5
95 x 3
135 x 3
165 x 2
175 x 2
185 x 1 x 2 bout min in between
both 185's went very well even with heavyish squats just prior.
Bench opener bout 180
BP w/ slingshot
195 x 3
205 x 3
Of course these were easy with equipment ... i just wanted to feel 200ish at unrack and groove bar path ... I tend to touch chest too high as i approach PR range... Gotta be mindful of that at meetLast edited by beatha; 05-03-2014 at 01:18 PM.

yep you nailed it lol just a small PR is goal on each 3rd attempt
its a 'national' level meet so if i break a record i'll have chance for a 4th to better it ... but we shall see how the day goes after a water cut.
started drinking 1.5gal wed so today i'm aiming for 2 gals and had my last carb feast post workout
if i make 148 then all but squat opener will be National records good chance to learn how i preform a lower wtLast edited by beatha; 05-03-2014 at 06:32 PM.

thx for the vote of confidence izzy ... stressing tiny bit with 24 hrs and 5 lbs to go
thx JJ
std water & carb cut
lower carbs over the week progressively less each day (avg 70g/day M-Th),
doubled daily water (inc coffee) leading into meet week and 3 days out dropping daily liquid allowance by half
sodium taper starting wed; note i carbed up over weekend and had somewhat salty foods even into tuesday so as keep myself supersaturated and in electrolyte balance
in terms of # - normally drink 1 gal of water plus other stuff so easy to ramp up
Sat-Tu 2-2.5 gals
Wed 1gal (*all liquids)
Th 1/2 gal*
Fri cup of coffee and sips of water periodically until early wt in bout 7 pm ... likely not fasting 100% but will eat very little
sorry if i confuse with my rambling explanation
my scale is going to work with me so i can freak out all day bout drying out in time
hope to wake up at sub 153ish crossfingers.jpgLast edited by beatha; 05-08-2014 at 08:13 PM.

Sounds like you are on track with the cut. They say it is better if you can hold onto as much weight as possible for as long as you can to keep your strength up. So 5 pounds to lose in 24 hours sounds just right
So excited for you and geek to do this meet!CSCS

yep and there will be vid
excited to do meet. probably should have done a natural laxitive few days ago. last 3 meets have yet to break 152# on a water carb cut ugh . officially 152.3# even though i started few lbs ligher than last time.
oh well will be a meet to prep for june ... not wanting to peak just get 198-204 bench pr i've missed twice. It will be great day to get either and repeat 314 squat and 385 dead that PR's for november leaves room for peaking at next meet 4 wks later.
due to holiday and closeness to nationals looks like we shall have fewer competitors this meet so hopefully not a 12 hr day."Ego kills spirit. Find confidence in your own progress not in comparison to others." - me waking up 11/21/15

Vids maybe sunday
Geek did awesome in her first meet. Now that she's got the 1st one outta that way I think she'll soon be ready for another. Right G?
I'll let G tell you'll about her day and post up her own vid
Me :/ I did ok. Missed repeating my squat and bench pr's so my total sucked but whatever this was a training meet not one I wanted to peak for. {words with which i console myself lol}
One positive is i have a new DL PR 391 Had more in me (400+) but figure I will save that for June
CP Deads program is working, going to model my bench & squat scheme after it see what gains I can make in the fall.Last edited by beatha; 05-10-2014 at 10:48 PM.

Awesome deadlift Bea! Eh, whatever on the total. as you said, you weren't even peaking for this one. save the energy for June and kill it then. Can't wait to see the vids, and hear how a geek did, too

Great lifting, Bea.
Squat tech spot-on as always.
Seems like they make you wait a long time for the press command, it must feel even longer when you are under the bar.
Left a LOT on the platform with the dead, that has to feel good knowing that you haven't even finished CP yet and you are north of 400 for sure!CSCS

Looking foward to the next meet just 24 days away
Surpisingly not so sore today so I busted out a quick light high volume . . . read almost cardio-like lunch session and did some pull ups at during commercial breaks this evening.

5-13-14 Tuesday MSU session 2
69 reps total; worked on speed and depth - another lunch session this one about 45 min - not as quick an in/out as i wanted. Perhaps less ramp up sets.
HB Squats
5@95,115,135,165,185
3@205,205
2@225,225
5@185 x 3
8@135 x 3
Not familiar with rack i used today (new gym near wk) so i set pegs a bit high then just decided to deal with it. Not my hybrid squatting form, ah stance bit wide & ducky, thus my quads are feeling it already."Ego kills spirit.
