Trying to lift like Naim won't work for most of us because we don't have his proportions. Technique is individualized for each of us. Just trying to follow general guidelines only works if you are a general example.
while Oleg Perepetchenov may be 5'5 in the 77k class, Yurik Vardanian was 5'7, not HALF A FOOT TALLER, and competed mostly at 82.5 and 90. So yeah, bull**** is bull****

The point of the Olympic lifts is to improve speed strength. By powering it up and riding it down you are not getting the most out of your speed strength.

You should keep trying to get faster and lower under the weight with proper technique, you will soon notice that each time you get faster under the bar until your speed strength is fatigued.

At the beginning you will be slow under the bar causing alot of bad errors. You should practice your technique with acceptable weights, once that weight is perfected you raise the weight. It is not only safer this way but it will increase strength, flexibility, coordination, agility etc

Urik might not be but others are. Even at 2 inches taller he looks slower under the bar because of his longer proportions in the arms and legs.

Pretty sure we are done here. You seem to be bent on winning an internet argument rather than learning.

i didnt come here to learn as much as to see what other ol'ers are up to. this is a poor place to learn honestly. a beginner could get by well here i guess, but i have nothing to learn from anybody here (and already have an online coach)
