    Computer gaming peripherals

Hey guys, so I got a few hundred dollars and I'm looking to upgrade my computer's speakers, mouse and/or keyboard. ATM I just have okay Dell Speakers and am looking to get more powerful and clear ones (for gaming and multimedia). As far as keyboard/mouse - I just have standard dell mouse and keyboard. I was wondering if their were any advantages in upgrading to a gaming mouse and keyboard - like black adder mouse and logitech g510 or something. Anyone got any advice on spending $200-$300 on these three things and what would be the best option - or even worth upgrading with just this much money? I'm planning on playing Skyrim,; along with some MMO's and FPS games occasionally.

Thanks a lot in advance for any help everyone!

What I would do: (what I did)

Logitech G5 mouse (or the G500 now I supppose)
    Sidewinder x4 keyboard
    Some decent headphones.

My setup for those was close to 200 IIRC.

Headphones were Creative Aurvana Live's btw. More for immersion/music/movies than for pinpointing enemies in a fps; seems like it'll be fine in your case.

Better keyboard just depends on if you'll use the functions, like macro's, backlighting, etc.

Better mouse can be more comfortable, and changing the DPI on the mouse on the fly can be very useful, not to mention it should be more accurate, depending on your current mouse.

Most people will say that that budget won't get you very good speakers for gaming/multimedia if you're serious.. if you need speakers and not headphones, make sure it's at least a 2.1setup. (Don't know what you have now.. I'm assuming it's a 2.0 setup?) Getting $100 headphones will (always?) Beat a 5.1 setup of the same price, so just keep that in mind..

I'm sure more people can chime in, but there's a start

I really like my Logitech G700 mouse, wired and wireless which is nice. I use it wireless and when im done or need to charge it i just plug in the USB cable into the mouse and use it like a regular mouse.

    Also look into mechanical keyboards.

Something like a Steel Series 6Gv2 if you like clicky keyboards, or a Razer Black Widow if you like quieter softer keys.
