New to the forum, need some hard advice.

    Hello,

I am new to the forum and am in need of some hard advice. Here is my story. On January 1st of 2011 I weighted in at 255lbs at 5'10" tall and 25 years old. I was very heavy, and I looked terrible. I was married three months earlier in october, and things turned south quickly. So on the first of January i decided to make a life change, in a lot of ways. Over the course of three to four months i lost over 40 lbs to right around 215 just by changing my diet. I started eating a lot of green veggies and cutting my calories literally in a tenth at times. I know this wasnt healthy, so once i hit 215, i was no longer able to lose anymore weight like this. I started to workout with cardio 6 days a week. When i started i wasnt able to run a mile without stopping, even at a very slow jog. It was pathetic to say the least considering I was a three sport athlete in high school. Once August 1st hit I was all the way down to 188 lbs and my scale said right around 21.9 % body fat when i woke up and 18.6% after a workout. I started to put lifting into my workout at the end of june, and started to see a change in how i felt as well as running 5 days a week. Well, once the last week of august came around, i started to lose motivation. I started eating sporatically and only worked out maybe 2 days a week if i was lucky. I stepped on the scale today and it showed 192 at 22% body fat...but i feel so much more fat on my body than i did before. My workout was as follows: Day 1-Upper body (8 lifts), 20 minute run. Day 2-Lower body and shoulders (7 lifts) and a twenty minute run Day 3-Back and core workout, 20 minute run. Day 4-Rest. Repeat cycle. My diet was as follows: Breakfast-4 egg beaters, two packets of oatmeal. Snack-Peanut butter sandwich on wheat bread. Lunch-Chicken breast, cup of broccoli, cup of cottage cheese. Snack-greek yogurt and tuna. Dinner-chicken breast, brown rice, fruit (varied). Post workout was 2 scoops of protein (52 g) in 20 oz. of water. Is this a good workout and diet? I seemed to be doing alright with it, but I feel i lost motivation because i wasnt seeing the results i wanted, maybe impatient. Any advice? I am wanting to get to at least 15 percent body fat by holloween, which is the day after my birthday. I just need some hard advice from those of you that have been through this. I have lost 70lbs, but im still not happy with what i see in the mirror! Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you for the long read.

If you're getting results at the rate you want and they're good results you're doing it right. Going a faster route might not be optimal when it comes to keeping it off but you may be able to run a higher deficit. Just do your best to preserve the muscle you have while cutting and being patient is a good thing as well.
"Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." I'd be willing to say that 95% of people on this forum accomplish nothing in years, don't be one of those people. It's sad, they seem to have the knowledge many don't but can't utilize it.
