I read textbooks on each programming language, starting from HTML + CSS and working my way up to PHP / SQL / Javascript and then JQuery.

I was stupid at first and spending $5 / day but making about $20 / profit a day.

Once I bumped my budget up to $50/day in advertising I made a lot more money.

Honestly it doesn't matter what you use because if you are paying the shared hosting price (like $5 / month or whatever they charge), your website will be slow and go down every now and then. Just pick one that will let you upgrade to a VPS later on if you get heavy traffic.

I went to college for electrical engineering (hardware), I learned all the software on my spare time.

Just go to amazon and pick the highest rated books in each programming language, that's what I did.

In a nutshell, JQuery is the easy/simple version of Javascript that is cross browser compatible. JQuery is basically a bunch of Javascript functions.

Yeah I'm familiar with the saying "If you want something done, you got to do it yourself."

For my college major I'm planning on getting a degree in business law and then a minor major like programming or website/graphic designer to do work on my own projects in the future if I can get any thing started
