I am looking to relocate, possibly to Las Vegas, and am looking to see if anyone has any professional contacts in the las vegas area. Any and all help would be appreciated. My focus is going to start at the casinos for marketing positions, of which there seems plenty, but having a contact in the city would be invaluable.
Any and All help will be rewarded!
Thanks, Alec

I know a guy named Sam Rothstein, but everyone calls him "Ace."
He used to be a handicapper, but he was given a position at one of the casinos in Vegas (I forget which one) overseeing day-to-day operations.
I think he's still trying to get his license and due to some issues with the County Commissioner there have been some delays but that may have been resolved by now.
Would you like me to put you in contact with him? Just a forewarning, he has a gorgeous wife but she is a hell of a lot of trouble and I advise you to not get involved.self-proclaimed huguenot

Just don't forget there are a lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging. And who knows who's gonna come along in that time? Pretty soon, you gotta dig a few more holes. You could be there all ****in' night.
If you argue with a madman, it is extremely probable that you will get the worst of it; for in many ways his mind moves all the quicker for not being delayed by the things that go with good judgment. He is not hampered by a sense of humor or by charity, or by the dumb certainties of experience. He is the more logical for losing sane affections. The madman is not the man who has lost his reason. The madman is the man who has lost everything except his reason. -- G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy

After being released from prison, I broke parole and traveled to Los Angeles to meet up with my former partner in crime and close friend Rusty Ryan to propose a scheme I had in mind. We go to Las Vegas to pitch the plan to wealthy friend and former casino owner Reuben Tishkoff. The plan consists of robbing the Bellagio, The Mirage, and the MGM Grand casinos. Reuben's familiarity with casino security makes him very reluctant to get involved, but when he begins to think of it as a good way to get back at his rival, Terry Benedict, who owns the three casinos, Reuben agrees to finance the operation. Because the casinos are required by the Nevada Gaming Commission to have enough cash on hand to cover all their patrons' bets, we three predicted that, on the upcoming night of a highly anticipated boxing match, the Bellagio vault will contain more than $150 million...
Yada, yada, yada... We robbed the place. And had to split the money, oh, I believe it was 11 ways.
Would you like me to put you in contact with Reuben?

Spot on...was there for a couple years not too long ago and I still try to get down there 5-10 days out of the month especially on fight weekends but the only positives is you can get a very nice 1 bedroom apartment for 600 bucks with a state of the art gym in the complex....nice pool etc or buy a very nice 3-4 year old large home for 150-180k last time I checked which used to sell for 3-4 x that much but everything else especially employment wise is the worst I ever seen in Vegas. If you can find a friend to live with that will help a ton with costs but even Casinos are either being sold as of late (Tropicana) or closing down like the Sahara.

If I'm not mistaken, there were a couple contributing factors to the closing of Sahara. The casino was the oldest on the strip and the least profitable of the MGM-Mirage corporation. I've heard rumors about them completely remodeling it, or selling off the property to another corporation (but that would most likely be to pay for the major f*ck up of the construction company surrounding one of the City Center buildings). Not to mention, a lot of the "older" casinos are getting pushed out by Steve Wynn and his policy of completely re-modeling the inside of his hotels every 2 years so they are a "new experience" for his high rollers.
I'm just here for the gangbang.

Oh Yeah? Funny part is the guy who purchased the Sahara Sam Nazarian for 300-400 Mil who's a billionair and a tycoon in the club game and real estate here in L.A and other cities (SBE Entertainment) didnt even try to salvage the casino after a couple years in and threw in the towel and just boarded up the place basically and 1k+ people lost there jobs...Vegas is a crazy town depending on your luck in a good way or bad way Maybe Sam is related to Mr. Cooper and he can hook you up with a nice job ??
Yeah from what I read that was hes initial plan to add luxury suites and to class it up to attract new customers but It never got off the ground and It was just losing tons of money. That part of the strip is really bad since theres no reason to go down that area since its so outdated. I heard that also about him selling the land but never know these days If theres any truth behind it. Yeah the City Center building that was supposed to be 49 story building ended up being 29 lolz, they messed up in construction now MGM and the construction Co. are in court suing each other since they want to blow it up (MGM) and the construction company wants them to pay for the correct repairs since it never official opened up....Las Vegas is so messed up even the big dogs cant do anything right these days. Theres only a handfull of casinos who are turning a profit these days and why big fights like the 17th Mayweather-Ortiz fight was so important since it brings in a ton of high rollers and fills up hotel rooms.Last edited by GymRat128; 09-28-2011 at 12:23 PM.

If the reports on the news were correct and the construction co. actually didn't place the rebar wire appropriately to support the structure, than they should be held responsible IMHO. They f*cked up big time. Especially since MGM-Mirage Corp had a bunch of those high-end condos already sold prior to beginning the project.

Yeah i totally agree, The construction co. didnt do its job which is why there both in court as we speak. Plus MgM + ***** Co. picked the worst time for that project possible...The 29 story tower from the outside is one of the the most beautifull buildings in the city center and they goof'd on it...Yeah I saw the article that they had deposits on 40-50% of the condo's before construction started but everyone backed out of it...they started in the mid 400's back then so they lost tons of $$$$. Even construction in Vegas is a bigger gamble then other cities

after a series of rash decisions, i decided to forgo what most people would consider "norms," and moved out to vegas to push it to the limit. i really didn't care what happened to myself, i honestly was self destructive. i pawned off my belongings, didn't care if i got fair value, i had decided i was going to drink myself to death. what i didn't plan on, was a prostitute that could have changed my mind, had she met me sooner. ultimately, she fell for me, but i was set on my path to destruction and suicide; i would find success, and she would find emptiness.
