Because our lives aren't important, not at all. We are just 1 of 6 billion people. We are not entitled to be happy or successful. You're just a product of luck, which determines how your life will play out. But in the end you're insignificant and no one really cares.
So what if I was depressed and wanted to end it? or what about the millions of other people that do also? It doesnt matter. Because life goes on and our lives mean nothing. The world isn't fair, ppl millions of ppl die every day, millions of ppl suffer abuse they never asked for or deserve. But thats just part of life. And if ppl decide to end it it doesn't matter, nothing matters.

That is where you are wrong. You are correct that in the grand of shemes life does goes on and people will get over it and move on (even when they die and no one will remember them). That is the circle of life.
However when you say "that persons life" doesn't matter to anyone. That is not true. It still matters to the families

09-27-2011, 01:22 PM #15Suicide is another thing that's so frowned upon in this society, but honestly, life isn't for everybody. It really isn't. It's sad when kids kill themselves 'cause they didn't really give it a chance, but life is like a movie: if you've sat through more than half of it and it sucked every second so far, it probably isn't gonna get great right at the very end for you and make it all worthwhile. No one should blame you for walking out early.

If you're at the point where you're willing to commit suicide, you might as well just do whatever the **** you want. Any possible ramifications of your actions you can pretty much escape by killing yourself.

Nah, its bigger than that minimalist view.
Its ending a persons memories and effects on friends and family, its ending a persons possible accomplishments and activities. You never know how the presence of a single person can effect millions of things, for the good and bad. Chaos theory, butterfly effect, the first domino tipped over, suicide can cancel those effects.
Although, the suicide itself can start of a chain reaction of events that may change big and little things.

Ever lose a close friend or family member? **** sucks. If it was from suicide, I'd probably despise them for being so damn selfish.
It could ALWAYS be worse.

In the grand scheme of things I agree that we are insignificant, but people attach meaning to things and people and more than likely someone has attached meaning to you. Suicide steals that meaning from them, even if it is insignificant, and directly hurts them. So, suicide effects those that attach meaning to your life. It is up to you to decide if hurting them is what you want to do, regardless of our significance.
Big words and ramblings. Awwww yeaa!
