not enough for me. i need way more. but if you have enough energy and all that, then it's enough. some people work out fasted. it's just abt what your body prefers. what you need or don't need to have an optimal workout. not the pt, but i've never understood eating rice cakes anyway. they're totally fine, i just don't get it.
i second what wp said.
mausi79 and i were separated at birth.
i don't believe in iifym (for physique purposes, yes, but for health and wellness, no), but i do believe you should seriously love every single thing you eat.
lifetime reps to el, wp, kim, amanda and rowyn

I think that's fine for pre workout as long as you're not working out over an hr or so. However post workout you need more than that, add some quality carbs.

I agree. A rice cake does not have enough carbs to replenish glycogen post w/o

I second this. After my workout is when I consume my highest carb meal. Rice cakes are useless IMO.

My post w/o is my breakfast, seeing how I workout at 5 am. I usually have 1/2 cup of oatbran, 6 egg whites, mixed with greek yogurt or c/c and a tablespoon of some sort of nut butter.
It's quick and easy for me before I go to work.
As for pre w/o, I can't stomache a whole lot that early in the morning, I always have boiled eggs on hand so I'll usually just grab one or two and eat it on my way to the gym.

I can't eat a ton before I lift so usually something light beforehand and a big meal afterwards that consists of protein, veggies and carbs.
