    5 Day work out eating questions etc

    Ok im 20 6'3 - 220 lbs ive worked out a little in the passed but finally decided im going to stick with it. Got a membership and have been working out with some friends

    We're doing a 5 day work out plan somthing like

    Monday - Chest
    Tue - Bi
    Wed - *forget atm
    Thur - Legs
    Fri - Shoulders/back

    My friend im taking most advice from is extremely cut and strong hes been working out and eating right since his freshman days in high school

    How does that lifting plan look? Its not exactly right cause i dont remember what all we did i just do as he says

    Also how many calories, protien and all that should i be getting a day? Im trying to bulk and cut before spring break which is in 6 months. Im not expecting to be huge but i just want to be fairly comfortable with taking my shirt off and having some definition

    Also ive only just now started doing abs and im doing the p90x ab workout how many times should i do that a week? Thanks

    First, determine your calories needed to maintain your current weight

    Second, eat 20% less than that a day

    Third, look up a real workout program in the stickies, one that gives real muscle instead of just toning. If it has a bicep day, it's not a real program
    Try Mark Rippetoes StartingStrength, Jim Wendlers 5/3/1, or Bill Starrs5x5
    for common starter stuff. Maybe check out all pros beginners routine or growth stimulus training(better for size and less strength).

    Four, remember, diet is more important than any routine, get it in check and master yourself. Aim for 1g protein/lb of lean mass and make sure you are doing lots of SQUATS!

    eat 20% less then what?

    Ive been 220 all my life some days ill eat good some days ill eat a whole pizza but never seem to gain any weight i stay between 215-225 eating maybe 2-3000 calories a day

    and thanks ill be sure to look it up
