I am just iffy about the culture. It seems like a fad full of people who sub consciously want to one up people that have actually been lifting for years.

I go to gym at peak hours (around 6pm when everyone is off work) and never seen anything like this before and I go to a huge 24 hour fitness that opened a year ago (so you know its packed).

They're bumper plates, meant to be dropped and to set the bar at the same height with weights lighter than 135.

The dudes are all skinny, the girls are all skinny fat, and every single person looks like they would crumble if they squatted 225.

I genuinely feel bad for those people because they have no idea what they could do with competent trainers that didn't charge $200 a month for stuff like that video. They probably saw a video of Lipson doing strongman stuff and tried to copy it. Difference is that Lipson was an actual strongman competitor before he started Crossfit and is just a strong mother****er in general.
