There has been heated debates over the past few years about the calorie count of the old Xtend. I believe it was determined that one scoop = 20 calories. So the new version = 40 calories? Since 2 scoops of the old is equal to 1 scoop of the new version.

Leucine: ~5.9 kcal/g
Isoleucine: ~5.9 kcal/g
Valine: ~5.2 kcal/g
Glutamine: ~3 kcal/g
In isolation, individual amino acids have different heats of combustion and resultant metabolizable energy. 4 kcal/g is an underestimation since it's based on the heat of combustion of a complete protein - which basically ends up being approximately a weighted summation of the heats of combustion of all 20 or so amino acids in the protein. Splitting hairs perhaps but incorrect on technical grounds. It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Ya, I don't get this. If protein is made up of several amino acids, how on earth will 1g of an individual amino acid be equal to 1 g of complete protein? Surely Arginine and Glutamine and Leucine all differ in terms of how they interact with your body. Isn't this what MusclePharm or someone did with their protein gel product? Using a protein gel and counting it towards their total protein, when in fact, it is an incomplete protein, and as thus, shouldn't be regarded as a full protein source?
