reg park 5x5 or ss?
Someone show me how it's done, i'll accept constructive criticism.
Just do not stray from the basics or feed me your broscience crap.
Old school bodybuilding is where it's at. y'all can use your steroids.
I'll gladly eat (i LOVE eating) to get big.
Mix that with some big lifts and it makes a pretty good outcome.

Depends on the goal. Reg Park's 5x5 appears to be more bodybuilding oriented, based on the assistance work, and (if I recall correctly) the less aggressive progression (I think he said that the 5x5 should be challenging, but you shouldn't ever be at a weight where you're going to miss any reps unless something goes wrong, which would inherently mean sticking to the same weight for a bit longer, or resetting earlier) to accommodate the extra exercises. Rip's SS is all about getting as strong as linear progression will allow you to get on the big 5 lifts in the program. Of course both will make you bigger and stronger, but which is more important to you? Strong muscles or pretty muscles? That should give you your answer.

They're very similar programs, I'd do reg park's just because it allows for barbell bent over rows. At the end of the day, reg park's 5x5 will have you doing 2 warmup sets and 3 working sets, while SS has you do "as many as you need" to warmup, and then 3 working sets again. Both programs (being full body 5x5s) are aimed at building a base of strength, in this case specifically but not necessarily for beginners, thus requiring a lot of eating and a lot of increase in weight. Like 5 pounds every workout. However SS seems to be more along the lines of powerlifting as someone said above, and requires an immense amount of calories (according to Mark Ripptoe, the creator of the program). You'll still have to eat above maintenance on both programs, aka running a bulk while lifting in the 5x5 rep and set range. Strength comes with the lifts (and rest), size comes with the eating.
I designed my own program for strength and some hypertrophy, but it's still 4x5 or 5x5 full body compounds 3 days a week, with isolation at least twice a week (biceps curls, skullcrushers, etc). It's your choice what to do, but Reg Park's will allow for more upper body mass due to the barbell rows, I think. And Ripptoe specifically said not to change his program (ie don't add curls or anything, maybe pullups once a week). Good luck with your bulk.500+ Just say rep back

I'm tempted to neg OP for ignoring rdferguson's post because he weighs 'less than [his] dick'
If your goal is bodybuilding then Reg Parks 5X5 would probably be better as barbell rows are used over powercleans, (an explosive movement that is not generally used for size), isolation is used, and the warmup sets are more aggressive and probably contribute somewhat to growth, (5 reps of 60% (probably not so much), and 80% of your 5RM, (probably has a contribution to growth as well as acting as a warmup set), hell, it is called 5X5).'People are gonna remember me as a god forever...
