Does Weight lifting stunt your growth? (SRS)

I'm 16 in about 2 months and my current height is 169 CM or 5'6 and some change. (I weigh around 170lbs 12% bodyfat too)
Anyhow, I've been lifting for about 2 1/2 months now, have had some insane progress, but now I've beginning to go over my bodyweight in a few exercises and I'm a bit worried about this entire question of stunted growth.
My mum or dad arent particulary tall, they're like 175cm, so I was wondering, does it really stunt your growth and are there any possible ways to increase your height? Tips would be most appreciated.

Nah brah, thats just a myth from what i believe.
When i started lifting i was 5'9 now im 6'0.

Google Richard Sandrak aka Little Hercules. He was the strongest child alive and now he's 19 an looking pretty abnormal to me. You can lift weights, that's fine. Just don't go extreme until you're 18+. Also stay away from steroids especially as a teen.

What do you mean by extreme? right now I'm benching over my bodyweight only on one set normally in each exercise for low reps, so is that extreme or should I stay safe?

Steroids stunt your growth. So if your not on steroids you wont stunt your growth unless you break your spine or something. You'll be fine

By extreme I mean working out 5+ hours a day trying to look like the Governator.

It's just some broscience, don't believe it. I've been working out for about 6 months and I keep growing.

Steroids stunt your growth. So if your not on steroids you wont stunt your growth

Well technically the AAS causes the estrogen spike. Unless it doesn't aromatize of course. Note to all 10 year olds: eat tbol and anavar like skittles they won't harm you.

Major in two things completely unrelated to one another. Makes you more appealing on job applications. I'm going to pick up either a double major or minor in English.
