Let me understand this - there is an entire political party that believes that people who work, save, invest, plan, and drive the U.S. economy should be taxed to an extent that makes them little better off than an unemployed person, a welfare recipient, or a drug addict?
And this party is actually taken seriously??

They are still rich
They often as not had money to begin with, whether in the hundreds of thousands to the millions from which they built that wealth. SO THEY HAVE NOT, DO NOT AND WILL NEVER WORK HARDER!!!
Would you rather **** on the already poor and make them even more desperate (aka criminally inclined)

I agree in principle on more tax for millionaires, but they must lower the middle class tax brackets. It's absurd you start to pay 25%!!!!!! of your income to the gov't when you make 35k or more. And that is just the federal tax. But poor people should get less incentives to stay poor. There are way too many entitlement programs in the US. The gov't needs to use tax money for education and infrastructure instead...not military and welfare...alas those are the two most popular options

lol @ thinking that people get rich through hard work. If that were true then every ditch digger would be a billionaire.

yes it should be like that.
i agree though, it is really not fair for the members of the lower class social strata who commit crimes... but it's something that could mean food on the table, a son in college, or a mother getting a babysitter...
the fact is that all (well, most) of our ancestors were immigrants who came here willing to work... would you have denied your grandfather comfort and economic stability when he was working his ass off just to make ends meet so mr. rockafeller could suck sum dik and die of aids?
