Anyone else got the same stance on the O?
There's enough threads to support each top bber for the O next week, obviously they're quite biased.
I'm a bbing fan and wanna see the best person on the day win, no matter who it is, I'll be happy, especially with branch being out now (I think he's a great bber, but I couldn't see him as a Mr O, for the sake of bbing.)
I'll start off by saying I personally think the following guys have a legit shot at winning, depending on how others turn up, obviously some need more 'help' than others but it's still possible:
Jay
Kai
Phil
Wolf
Vic
Dex
That straight away gives for an exciting comp.
I also cant help but think back to 98 when Ronnie came from nowhere to beat the guys that were 'meant' to win - Levrone, wheeler, ray etc they were our present day Phil, Kai and Jays. So can the same happen again? Can someone come from nowhere and take it? Personally I think not, even though I'd be excited for it to happen!
For the future, I see Beyeke, Cedric and maybe Dohne being those guys, good now but potentially mind blowing physiques in the future.

Nah I think I'll stick with team Heath
I do want the best man to win but it seems my idea of the best man is different from that of the judges. There'd be a few people I'd be happy to see win like Heath, Dexter or Victor but I can't see the second two happening.EPO all in my veins; Lately things just don’t seem the same; Actin’ funny, but I don’t know why; ’Scuse me while I pass this guy.

I actually prefer if Jay wins it because with the exception of redfartdrummer none of his fans are annoying but yeah i'm getting here as i really do not have a favourite. Just wanna see a couple guys breaking top 10 and maybe Wolf beating Phil and that's it.

The problem with Vic winning is Jay would have to be SUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPER off or Vic looks 10000x better than 07. They didn't give it to Vic when he clearly looked better than a watery Jay in 2007, so why would they now? (My guess is because Vic got convicted of selling illegal drugs. They just won't give the O to a convict, unfortunately).
That being said, I would be absolutely ecstatic if Wolf won.Frustrated at bodybuilding? Read my rant:

I would like Wolf or Vic to win but I honestly don't think judging will actually allow such leapfrogging over predetermined placings nowadays. I believe there is a hierarchy in placings that judges use a guide for judging, atleast that explains to me how some more well known pros tend to place alot higher when some competition technically looked better. Its just speculation on my part, but it does make sense.

My guess is that 1)If they let Jay win again even though he was off there would have been mass IFBB riots haha. I think after 07 the organization realized with the way the sport has grown on the internet, their ability to "fix" the big contests (e.g. 97) became severely limited. Alot more people can look at pictures, replays, and go on forum. In addition to that, 2)Dex didn't get caught dealing drugs. If I'm right, and the IFBB didn't let Vic become officially the best bodybuilder in 2007 because of his past, then it leaves an interesting question as to what they will do with Kai.

I sort of agree but at the same, last year Kai messed up, looked bad and he was given the placing necessary. Jay messed up in 08, he didn't win, wolf - a top 4 and 5 previous years demoted to out of the top 15?! That does show that the judges don't have a problem putting a top tier pro down the ranks to were they belong of they come in looking like crap?

Good point... But then is it much different being an Arnold Classic champ to an O champ? To us we know the difference but Joe public dont know much and they probably relate more to Arnold than a comp called Mr Olympia. Both of Vic and Kai have won the Arnold so surely the judges could have stopped those victories?

It actually doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Ronny Rockel placed above Kai Greene and Victor Martinez at the Olympia last year, and I think everyone can agree that those two are far more well-known pros than Rockel.
Evan Centopani, who had only competed once before this year, beat a former Mr. Olympia, in the form of Dexter Jackson, at the Flex Pro.
I swear to God a new conspiracy theory is created every day in this section.Bench: 215x12 (17/12/2011) PR since torn RC

ill be happy if jay or phil wins but i really want the Heath to pull this through. i think kai hype train is getting way out of control on here and i would like to see it derailed.
edit. and to the people saying kai wont win because of popularity or bad judges, you have to take into account that ronnie coleman went from 9th place to mr. olympia. anything can happen.

Chill brosephs.. It's all just fun talk in here, as long as there's no 'I love Kai, I love grapefruits and I want him to win soooo badly and when I grow up I want to be a grapefruit farmer' type posts, it's all good
Edit: No Kai hate, just an example, applies for all bbers^Last edited by wala; 09-11-2011 at 03:24 PM.

The only top tier pros I really don't want to win are Phil And Vic. I can't stand phils ******* face and his ******* voice and his *******y attitude and his severe lack of muscle maturity. Also don't like Vic because he has no personality, he seems like he's half retarded or something. Also hate the shape and flow of Vics physique

The Mr. Olympia is the Mr. Olympia. It decides who is the best. Most people have heard of the Olympia or "The Mr. Universe" (People I've talked to said "Hey, wasn't Arnold the bodybuilder who won like the first 7 Mr. Universes or Olympias or something?). Regardless, being a Mr. Olympia puts you in the limelight a hell of alot more than being an Arnold Classic champ. Ask as many fans of bodybuilding, either hardcore or really casual, to name more Mr. Olympians than Arnold Classic champions (or in a row or something), and 10/10 they'll be able to list Olympians more. Ask shocking as it sounds, probably a good amount of people who know who Kai Greene or Victor Martinez is don't know their dirty secrets. Them being Mr. Olympia would increase their exposure and the amount of people who knew about their past would explode. One news story or article about it and the whole thing could get out of hand.
I'm not saying I'm right, just giving my opinion.Frustrated at bodybuilding? Read my rant:
