A little high but not horrible. It would lead to questions about your bp, age, smoker?

It's not too terrible. 60-100 is considered within normal limits so you should be okay but try taking 3 sets of vitals a day at different times to see if it's just high at that one time of the day.

Didn't realize the range was so wide. I always thought 60-80 was normal.. 90 being rather unfit

for a 20 year old male a resting heart rate of 90 is on the VERY POOR end of heart rates

Consult any heart rate chart for further information

take a few readings over a few days, maybe you just have a bad reading

Miguel Indurain is the only cyclist to have ever been recorded with less than 30, and the average Tour De France rider has a resting heart rate of 50.

Having a resting heart rate of 90 does seem pretty high, have you had yourself checked out?

OP just to be safe goto the doctors and get checked out. Everyone has different heart rates so you just might be on the higher end, but still better to make sure

also, who knows? This might be your normal HR. Everyone is different. Try to take blood pressure readings also. If you are constantly tachycardic and maybe prehypertensive at 20 years old, there's a chance you'll have to take meds in the future (loop diuretics, beta blockers, digoxin, ACE inhibitors, etc) which you don't want. Try to control your diet as best you can and quit smoking if you're a smoker. If you're stressed, try some relaxation techniques and identify factors that stress you out and work around them.

You're in the normal range, but as someone suggested. Take it three times a day.

Once in the morning (should be lower)... Once around mid-day, and once before bed.

Stress affects our body at different times during the day which affects our heart rate.

Ask a fat guy with average resting heart rate of 55-60 beats per minute anything. I don't do jogging/running all I do is lift/20-30 mins of walking 3-5 times a week.
