Is it ok to not like Kai Greene as a bodybuilder because of things he has had to do to get where he is today? Just a wondering because it seems like the majority of people that don't like Kai feel the way they do because of some of the questionable things he's HAD to do to survive. I personally feel that is a really poor reason to dislike someone as a bodybuilder as I'm sure the majority of them have done things that were on par or even more fuked up then what Kai had to do.
EDIT*** Hell Arnold posed nude in a homosexual magazine and no one seems to hold that against him which is worse than a grapefruit video, and he wasn't even hard off for money at the time.

Every person, athlete or celebrity who is some sort of public figure will be judged by the public not only by his accomplishments, but also by his perceived failures, downfalls, and vices. The public would like to hold these figures as larger-than-life, with ideals that they are greater than what they actually are.
Most public figures either attempt to limit the downfalls/vices/negatives in their lives, or to hide them. When news breaks, there is a public out cry against that person. Yet, they don`t see what the others truly are like.
Prime example: Tiger Woods
Why should the public care about anything except for his ability to play golf? That is the only reason we know of hit, and that should be the only thing we judge him on.
Kai Greene, sadly, seems to be judged by many on much more than his ability to bodybuild.

its ok for anyone on these boards to have their own opinions... the problem comes when that bodybuilder/person comes up in a thread and they have nothing else to do but to bash/flame/troll.... I'm a Kai fan and I'm not proud of some of the things he had to do to get where he was, so I comepletely understand the hate towards him, but then again I dont go around bashing every freeman thread flaming about his g4p, bashing vic for selling drugs, and bashing any other pro for the questionable sh!t they have done.... Everyone makes questionable choices in life.... one of my biggest pet peevs (spelling) is when a celeb's wrong doings are exaggerated because they are looked up to so highly. If these virgin, 30 year old 120lb *******s living in their parents basement could just keep their opinions to theirselves these boards wouldn't be so cluttered with "grapefruit" , "gh gut", "homo posing" comments and bodybuilding could take a fuking step forward in the right direction....

Huh? You said it was worse for Arnold to be posing nude in a homosexual magazine (without compensation) than to have sex with a piece of fruit in a video geared toward the homosexual community?
I say you're incorrect.
Comes down to perspective I guess.
At any rate, regardless of Kai's antics, it doesn't have any bearing on my feeling toward him. He's still a kick-ass bodybuilder.Novice Athletic Tall winner and Overall Athletic winner

My friend we live in a world where people hate on skin color, sexuality, looks, financial class etc. Human beings judge, it is how our society is made to function through years of corporate propaganda. You have to look a certain way, talk a certain way, act a certain way or it's taboo.
Yes he should only be judged by BODYBUILDING CRITERIA, but we are in a sport where the whole point is to be critiqued and judged. Your body, posing trunk, oil, tan etc.
I know you have judged people by first glance I know I have, we all do it. Once you get to know someone you actually realise "damn, He's actually pretty cool".
It's who we are and always will be.
Arnold is not judged since he made bodybuilding "cool" he is "cool". He became a MAJOR success and pretty much every person on earth knows him. Kai ? Not so much. That should answer your question, society turns a blind eye to successful people.
Unfair how sports stars or celebrities get special treatment ? That's life.
YES we should judge him on his body but in the same breath I read the Kai fans state he should win cause he deserves it so much, he's had the hardest life and he's so deep. Well didn't you just say we should judge the body only ? That's double standards so now YOU are being unfair. Double edged sword.
My point, people will always judge. Some people you like some you don't. You will always be judged and life is unfair.
The person who wins is the one who plays the game called Society LIFE the best.

Damn how is posing nude in a magazine worse than screwing a grapefruit on video?
Also Arnold was just hitting a pose, not dancing and doing a grapefruit!
Anyway... Not that should be held against Kai. Honestly I don't like Kai as a person, for the following:
His boring! his stupid damn answers never get anywhere!
And then when it comes to his physique, it can look pretty good - his thick as and looks pretty good! But I don't like his style of posing/dancing.
If I have mentioned his grapefruit before, its just added ammo for reasons why I don't like him.
So in closing I don't like who he is, and what he does. Today and in the past.
NOTE: I would like him if he just talked like a normal person! If he wins he has to talk... SOS

The problem is not Kai, mostly is the nutthuggers, I like most others do not dislike Kai in any way, my mother is an artist in real life and I appreciate Kais art, and Kais previous activities do not phase us - which can not be named here for fear of being banned by people who do banning who may be reading.
The biggest problem is with the attitude of kais nutthuggers, yep you guys are beyond fans, take a look in the mirror. Its up to you guys to change how you are all perceived on this forum, Kai fans do not have any honour or respect for others on this forum, its quite simple - you guys are Kais worst enemy, you are trashing his good name day in day out.

On a serious note I would be intrested to know how 'fruitfull' excuse the pun, that previous business venture was, would it really make more money than personal training for example? My brother charges 80-100 per hour here, I doubt he could make more money if he opened a 'special web site'
No disrespect meant, this is real life and times are hard, I just wonder why Kai could not have done a)PT b)Art Teacher c)Dance instructor (The guys a world class dancer)

The only thing I find anoying about Kai is his hair, in real life its fine but for bodybuilding its a bit distracting IMO, its not hate towards his hair in real life which actually suits him BUT in bodybuilding I do not know how the hell he pulls off those head stands with the hair on top, Kai must have one of the worlds strongest necks.
