    Powerlifting for a beginner

Hello everyone. I am 14 years old and am very interested in power lifting and the strongman sport. I would like to begin training with power lifting techniques so that i could compete later on. I have a very brief concept of what i should be doing to train for power lifting. I would just like to hear some input from you all to see what your suggestions are. If you have some suggestions or input i would be very happy to hear them. Thanks.

Here is a very simple routine of linear progression you can follow that includes all the competition lifts plus 2 others.

I had great success with StrongLifts.

coachdeez and hammerfelt have the right idea. I would just add finding a good gym (not a big commercial gym if possible). You can find a powerlifting gym here: powerliftingwatch .com/node/4420 Generally, I've found powerlifters to be pretty nice and helpfully so don't be afraid to ask questions, as long as they're not in the middle of a set or something.

getting into a powerlifting gym will do wonders for your total. Its not essential but huge value. I would start on Starting strength or 5x5 until you stop making gains, which won't be any time soon.
