goto a command prompt and do something like tracert www.google.com, or find the IP address for one of those Battlefield servers and do a tracert on those...
Look at the hops and figure out where the lag is coming from, it may be out of your control and just a router in the interwebs that your going through misbehaving. Nothing you can do except wait for them to fix it...if its within your ISP's control you may be able to call and tell them...but chances are you will get some retard customer service guy who tells you to restart your router 50 times before wanting to send a tech out to your house.

Check your Line Attenuation & Signal Noise Reduction levels. You have got a filthy line incoming to your house or at the exchange. Probably not patched properly some were. Google SNR & Attenuation find the right levels that you should be at, find out how to check them on your style modem, Ring ISP and tell them GTFO to your house.
