Side Planks (For Obliques) Better With Reps Or One Long Hold?

So they say for side planks or bridges you want to hold it for a minute a side but I find when I bring them down and get a good stretch I feel it more. Holding it doesnt burn as much.

The side bridge is an isometric tension exercise, so it's better to keep it at that.

Have you ever tried, one arm single leg deadlifts. Another great core and oblique building exercise.
