I'm always surprised more people don't do dips like I do.... Put the dumbbell between your feet. I use an 80lb dumbbell on average and it's easy to hold with your feet. When I get through 6 or 7 reps, it's easy to drop and rip off another 10 or 12. I do the same exact routine for chin-ups.
Dips hit my chest like nothing else. I've always done them.. always will.

Here is seething to consider. Since it is a compound movement and impossible to isolate the triceps while dipping I think its better to use on a chest day, and without knowing what program you are doing, but since you have a dedicated triceps day I would (if I were using your split) do heavier triceps isolation and keep dips as either a primary or accessory movement on my chest day.
With that being said it works both ridiculously well so either option is still OK but I would lean toward having it be my 2nd or third lift on chest day...fui quod es, eris quod sum

I have always avoided dips like the plague. I do them between benches with plates on my lap as my transition from chest to triceps but never on a proper dipping station.
I am going to give them a try tomorrow when I hit my chest. Hopefully it will be like the day I discovered I could actually do wide grip pullups, in the sense that I am just making a mountain out of a molehill.

Started doing these and I really love them.
Started with just BW, 5 sets and 8 reps. Next week increase to 9 reps. When I got to 12, started doing them weighted back to 8 reps. They are perfect for size and strength.
They are great assistance for the Press and Bench Press, imo. My lockout is much better since doing these.
