Dips should be in everyone's arsenal of regularly done exercises.

I ****ing love doing dips.
Ever since I started doing them weighted, my triceps and chest exploded. I used to do them on chest/tri day after flat BB BP. Switching it up a bit and doing weighted dips first on triceps/shoulders day.
Personal best so far is 135lb x 3 reps on my last set.March 2012 ---------> 2/4/13 Goal by May 6, 2013

I do the Gironda dips on chest days and tri-dips on arm days. I'm a dipping fool and absolutely love it!!The first and the best victory is to conquer self. To be conquered by self is, of all things, the most shameful and vile. — Plato

great article !!!
dips are really great. in my opinion this is the number one pressing movement for the upper body. if i had to choose only one pressing movenet it would be dips.

Finished up bench then did weighted dips for the 1st time today. I knew I needed more after I got to the point of being able to knock out well over 4 sets of 10-12 body weight dips. Got a belt a 25lb plate since I wasnt sure where to start. Did 10/8/6/6 and then 6 more body weight. Will probably go to 35 next week. I think my short term goal is to be able to knock out 10/10/10 with a 45 plate in the next 6 weeks. We'll see.
Good write-up! It was my motivator to try something more. Thanks.

Bench dips seem to be easier on the anterior shoulder... Anterior shoulder is a secondary strength to pushing triceps... drop sets are awesome for those smaller muscles that are easily compensated. LOVE some dips! (I cant but always sing that old song... I put my hand up on your hip, then I dip you dip we dip** nerd I know)Romans 8:13

I am glad someone else loves dips!!! I love doing bench dips with another bench to prop my feet on, legs straight, 2 45 pound plates stacked on my thighs, to failure, then have someone remove weight and continue to failure to finsh my chest/tri workout. Absolute BLAST on the tri's and chest
