    Weider X-Factor vs Cable Crossover

I was looking into buying or even building a cable crossover but then I thought about resistance bands and saving space. I really wouldnt have much space for a cable crossover except for maybe the width of those built in double pulley system on home gyms. Maybe a little more.

I was checking out the Weider X Factor and thought maybe I could use that. Anyone have experience with it? Would it be a good sub in for a cable crossover for the time being?

There are many other band companies than Weider. Just with their name on it I would assume you can do much better by buying elsewhere.

Wildtim, I see your posts everywhere! lol. I just got done looking at bodylastics. I like the idea. Really, what I want to know is there a big difference between the chest cross over exercise using bands vs cable crossover machine?

Not really, you just have to set things up right so the exercise is right.

Hmm...I'm really thinking about it. I like how the bodylastic attachments allow me to attach the bands anywhere. I would really like to have a cable crossover, but space is limited. I was also thinking about just waiting for another lat attachment. I sold a cage and they allowed me to keep the lat attachment. If I can find another one, maybe I can put something together and build my own cable crossover

One potential issue with doing this is that you won't get sufficient range of motion. Cable length on lat machines is of sufficient length for doing pulldowns and tricep exercises, but is sometimes too short for doing cable cross type movements.

With regard to your original question, I like the Lifeline USA resistance cables. Below is a photo of DIY wall anchors that I've set up and a photo of those anchors in use for a shoulder external rotation exercise. You could set up a cable cross type arrangement by using two sets of wall anchors. (The resistance cables in those photos are some of the older Lifeline models. The newer ones have better handles.)

I see what youre saying. In regards to the double lat pull downs, I was thinking of making something like the size of the built in cable cross overs on some gyms, which are only the width of the gym itself. But, either way, I'm very interested in the bands. I like what you posted, thanks!
