I made a mistake when I was trying to swap one of my classes today and accidentally dropped your course! I was, as of yesterday, enrolled in your Spanish 110 (789) class. I was in the process of trying to swap one of my other classes with a different one and somehow selected my Spanish class. Now I am unable to add your class back, because it requires teacher approval. If there is any way you could add me back to the roll of your MWF, 11:20-12:10 class I would be in your debt. I apologize if this might cause you a big hassle, it was not my intention. I have kept up with the reading, despite missing the last class meeting. It has been very hectic for me at work these past two days because of the hurricane and I have been working late into the night.

So, if I understood it correctly, it seems to me that the deadline to enroll without the teacher's permission has passed and now the only way you can enroll is by having him allow you to and you were already in his class, right? Also, you mentioned there are 6 empty seats in his class, right? So why is he not allowing you to join exactly? If you really want this class go for it OP, pressure him, ask him why is he not letting you join as there are empty seats left, tell him one more time that it was a mistake, that you didn't do it on purpose and what's the problem in letting you join the class in this particular situation? I mean, professors should somewhat help their students right?

In case he goes all ignorant, isn't there someone with a higher position such as the head of the department or principal or anything like that who you can take this to, such as a student-professor intermediate?

Hell, it is so simple, why do some people like to complicate everything? What will he lose by simply allowing you in?

If you hadn't been already enrolled then I'd go with the professor for irresponsibility to follow the deadlines but it was a MISTAKE, like a missclick.
