Hypothetically speaking, if you could barbell bench press 150 lbs flat, should you be able to dumbbell bench a 75 lb dumbbell in each hand?

i feel stronger on the db's and feel they give the chest more development. they are both compound movements unless your doing one arm at a time.

well, check it, when your barbell pressing your hands are locked in place with one another, which limits movement, and therefore reduces the amount of muscles used for stabilization, while the dumbbells are separate pieces therefore resulting in the opposite.
you'll find this isn't true for PULL exercises since no stabilization is needed for pulling.
I'll bench like 250, and dumbbell press the 85's with the same effort on each.
