Milk, is it beneficial or an enemy?

Ive been lifting hard for the last two years, So far Ive got awesome results. My abs started showing 2weeks ago, which is awesome for somebody who used to be fat. Iam the first one in my family to get them, but yea the funny thing about this is is that my abs only started to show after my brother told me to out milk of my diet, I used to drink milk every morning with cereal, is this a mere coincidence or does it really work? Can somebody plz help me?

PS: 2weeks after I cut out milk my abs started to show, Ive been doing abs throughout those 2 years Ive been lifting, but started to go a litlle hard on them after taking out milk off my diet. (I still drink whey, sometimes cheese, and yorgut in the am)

IIFYM still applies. That said, I think milk is very underrated. Decent amount of protein, calcium, vitamin D, and potassium (all of which are prone to being deficient in many diets).

Decrease calories further while dieting. Accelerate fat loss. This is quite the novel idea you have stumbled upon.

Milk is not the reason your abs weren't showing. You cut it out, and didn't replace it with anything else. This created a caloric deficit allowing you to lose enough weight for your abs to show.

Milk is kind of like a magical liquid. If you drink it while in a caloric deficit you will lose weight. But if you drink it while in a caloric surplus you will gain weight. It is like the yin yang of beverages.

Personally I think whole milk should take priority over whey shakes in most bodybuilding diets.

    Edit: Desslok wins the thread.

My weight has remained the same though.. All I did was replaced my breakfast which was cereal+milk WITH a multigram bagel turkey brest reduced fat cheese, I also eat a banana with chobain yogurt and granola. I know that is some milk in the yougut and cheese.

Cutting out the milk did nothing. Count up your current calories/macros and re-incorporate milk into your diet while maintaining your calories/macros if you want to see for yourself.

I can only say that the possible link is to cows treated with hormones, and a female cow would be treated with rBST and estrogen, which are known for fat gain
