honestly its the one pr i want to break before i get to university in September. just hit a deadlift of 415 today and a squat of 275 a week ago but i still just cant get to 225 on the bench. i've been stuck on 185 for months now (can only hit it for 3 reps). yes eating lots (around 4k calories) but it still seems as if im not getting any stronger. Incline DB press is going up, same with shoulder presses (DB & BB) but not flat BB. what gives?

It's your long arms dude. I JUST got to 225lbs although your deadlift is way better than mine, and squat is better. I had to focus on bench hard. Dumbbell and dips, incline work to finally get it. Also bulk up more it'll help.
**Weak ass stats**
Parallel Squat - 315lbs, 1 rep
Bench Press - 262.5lbs, 1 rep

I was struggling as well, until I read, re-read, and re-re-read the relevant chapter on rip's starting strength book. most people don't realize how complicated the bench is. not that it's that complicated, just they think they are supposed to flail the weight up and down, which works for most people until they get to around the weight you're stuck at.

Don't let this thread die, even if OP bails. I want to hear some bench advice for tall(er) people.

I'll rep you back. Be patient though, probably on recharge. PM me if I forget.

Not hard at all, I know a couple kids who are around his age that pull and squat that with a sub 225 bench.. and they compete as well lulz.
Edit: My advice would be to bring your triceps into the lift more, that's where most people fail. Tuck your elbows, retract your shoulder blades, and push yourself through the bench as opposed to pushing the bar away from you.Meet Lifts/Gym Lifts
Bench 365/385
Squat 460/485
Dead 515/535
Total: 1340 Raw @ 180lbs /w no wraps.
