Double meat Roasted Chicken Breast on wheat from Subway....I have my concoction down to about 500cals for that sandwich at 35-40g of protein....could probably get it a little lower but I refuse to eat bland food for the sake of losing .5 more lbs a week. I have lost a total of 115 over the last year and a half and that sandwich was/is a staple in my weekly meals....

"Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." I'd be willing to say that 95% of people on this forum accomplish nothing in years, don't be one of those people. It's sad, they seem to have the knowledge many don't but can't utilize it.

I don't understand how IF negates the need for low calorie food as you still have to try to fit your macro's into your reduced calorie diet no matter how often, or when, you eat your food. So, to me that means keeping unnecessary fat or carbs (beyond my macro needs) out of my diet since I struggle to get the amount of protein I need while staying within my calorie restriction.
So...that said, I still like to eat a sandwich for lunch so I use a lower calorie bread to hold my protein of choice for the day. Not sure if you can get it in Australia, but Nature's Own Honey Wheat is only 35 calories per slice and makes it much easier to keep my calories in check.

Nature's own also makes a 100 calorie sandwich round which can take the place of a traditional bun as well.
Also, protein pankcakes made from protein powder are great with some Walden Farms zero calorie syrup.

That's pretty good and I'm not all that concerned with low calories meals but if it's low cal, high protein and tastes great I'm all for it.
If that's true then you really are what I'd consider a noob. It's pretty simple getting in adequate protein, lean meats do wonders. Of course you can supplement with protein powders too but I like chewing food personally. I eat 2lbs of lean meat per day so getting my protein intake well beyond what it most likely needs to be seems simple to me."Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." I'm a bit confused by your post. Why are you after low calorie food? Low calorie food is low in macronutrients so you have to eat more of it to reach the same macros as higher calorie foods. Low calorie foods are used to "fill you up" when you are on a diet. If you're going to eat a 800 calorie lunch and a 1200 calorie evening meal (as an example on IF) then you can eat what you want to fill those calories/macros.
Hitting protein is pretty easy if you eat a decent amount of meat and if you can't then you just supplement with protein shakes. If you are struggling to fit protein into your diet because your are eating too much fat/carbs then either your food choices can be improved to incorporate better protein sources or you have set your protein level too high.
Low calorie foods do nothing to hit macros, they are there to fill you up.

I agree, but why would you still not be interested in some low calorie options to help reach satiety even when eating during an eight hour window on IF if you are still eating less calories then you need for maintenance?
I do reach my protein levels daily, and I shared some examples of how I do that. But if it's not an issue for you or someone else then feel free to ignore my suggestions. Just thought from the title of the thread this is exactly what others were interested in.

Well I look at it this way. Usually I bulk with 3 meals a day. I eat my brekky around 8, lunch 1ish and tea 7-8ish. By the time I get to lunch I'm hungry and after lunch I'm full. I am then starting to get hungry again at 7pm when I have my tea.
On a cut I do IF. I don't eat brekky I get a little hungry in the morning and have a strong black coffee to suppress that early hunger. At 1pm I'm hungry again (same as if I had eaten brekky) and after lunch I'm full (same as if I had eaten brekky).
So from lunch onwards I'm eating the same quantity of food as when I'm bulking, it's the 1000 caloire breakfast that transitions the cut to a bulk so as long as I have my cup of coffee in the morning to suppress that hunger, the 8 hour feeding window is just like a normal non dieting day.
Now if I was trying to still eat 3 meals a day and had my brekky, suddenly I have less calories to eat for lunch and tea so I probably would be hungry and require low calorie snack foods to fill me up, but I don't since I'm doing IF.
That was the point of my initial post, the thread asked for low calorie foods, I was offering a suggestion that would mitigate the need for them. Hope that clears up the misunderstanding.

A big ol Salad made up the way you like it, but with ranch dressing and a full chicken breast slathered in honey BBQ sauce. Learned it from buffalo wild wings.
I go green leaf lettuce, cheddar cheese, light ranch or FF ranch if you prefer, bacon bits, croutons, hard boiled egg, cucumbers, maybe tomatoes if you prefer, grill chicken breast and honey BBQ, and sometimes some Cajun seasoning. Measured right, it's good for about 600 to 700 cals, and very filling/satisfying.
Of course you can manipulate any ingrediants to make it very low cal, high protien.Last edited by bdrusse; 08-18-2011 at 12:01 PM.

Sara Lee 45 calorie slice bread or Franz
the 5 calorie sugar free jellos/gelatin
sugar reduced ketchup
not really low calorie but "lesser calories" is the Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl peanutbutter from PB&Co. Usual peanut butter is 200 calories per serving these are 170 and 160...... I know about PB2 but I like getting my fats from Peanut butter.Last edited by DefiningMoments; 08-18-2011 at 12:37 PM.
