I just got one for myself a couple weeks ago and I really like it.

I don't know if it will really hold 300lbs or not, cause being a woman, I probably won't ever use 300lbs for anything. Most I've ever used was 145lbs for squats and that was a couple years ago.
Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to!

I disagree, don't get it. I've had it for 2 months, the uprights are kinda wobbly.

Don't go cheap, go for quality. That won't last very long and weights from wal-mart just doesn't sound like a good idea.

I was also looking at this bench, mainly for the spotters to sqaut. I don't have the room for a power rack. What do you mean the uprights are kinda wobbly. Do you think that it could handle 250# without much trouble? Do you think the "spottes" would actually help if you dropped on a squat?

    Thanks

No, it doesn include the person. I believe that bench is rated to hold something like 610#. I had the "cheaper" version and I made a platform, and was doing 375# rack pulls off the 300# rated bar rests....which included a bit of slamming the weight down at the end. No problems holding up.

Sounds good then. I looked at one from Coscto a while ago that said it would support 300# including the weight of the lifter on the bench.

I just got this bench. It does have the ability to be Olympic width so you shouldnt have any problems.

    My dilemma:
I have limited space and this seemed ordeal because you can detach things and move it around. Standard width seems pointless to me and Olympic is too wide. The funny thing is I bought this because it claims to have a "mid width" ability. Well, I got it all together only to find out it does NOT. My question is if I can modify this to MID WIDTH bench whats the proper bars to be be used for mid width benches? 6 feet ... 5 feet? I cant go wider than a 6 feet bar, the room is too small.
Sorry if the questions are dumb I'm a beginner and this is my first post.

I wouldnt trust anything that I had to use more then the manual says it holds.

    If height is an issue,

    http://www.newyorkbarbells.com/pro92560.html

is a low ceiling model cage.

I do not have anything to do with that place, i just did a lot of research for my basement gym a while back.

The incline does not go 90 deg (right angle) for sitting military press on the XRS20 bench.

No mid-width even though it says you can...unless I'm missing something.
When it comes to the leg attachments, can you actually use this for leg curls? I can do leg extensions just fine but the seat is too narrow and the 2 pads (closest to the seat) get in the way when doing leg curls. I tried doing some and I can't get my legs in or out

I bought one, because my space is limited and so is my budget, the only problems I have is I cannot do leg curls cause the pads closest to the seat is too high and not adjustable, and the posts or towers are a little wobbly side to side, It holds lots of weight but just seems a little weak for the side to side movement. One other thing is the seat doesnt go full 90 degrees. other than that It fits my basic needs of the bench press' and leg extentions, it also works out good cause it has spotters for safty and I use them to hold the bar for barbell curls between sets, and squats.

I've had mine for about 6 weeks and I really like it.

Of course, being a woman and all, I don't have to worry about the upper weight limit very much. I only squat about 100lbs right now.
Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to!

In true Walmart fashion they have products made just for them and the XRS20 bench they sell is only for olympic width bars. If you want the piece for the rack that allows the use of a standard bar, you have to order it from Gold's Gym 877-776-4777, part number 245691, key number 8. Costs $30 - $40, depending where it has to be shipped.

Thanks for the reply but this thread is ancient. I ended up going with the Powertec Power Rack...
