Bench Press Vs. Incline Bench Press

    Hi BBers,

I saw that most of you can lift 2.5 times more at the bench press than the incline bench press.
For example, some of you lift: 250lbs bench press and 90lbs incline bench press
Personally I lift @ 130lbs for bench press and @ 100lbs for incline bench press. What does it mean?
Logically, I can lift more at bench press than the guy who lifts less than me at incline bench press, isn't it?

    Thx

I think that may be a bit too extreme there.

Not much, you use more upper pec/deltoids for incline.

Possibly, but he may have stronger/weaker deltoids compared with his pecs.

the incline bench has more ROM then a normal bench
I've seen a 15 year old deadlift 440 lbs. first time ever touching a weight
I've witnessed a begginer increase there total 350 lbs. the first month
I myself can show you men bench pressing 821 lbs. men deadlifting nearly 940 lbs. men squatting 1104 lbs.
Powerlifting the sport of imposibility to Bodybuilders everywhere

i think u will find that the 90lbs refers to dumbbells...which would be 180lbs... Well at least thats how I would see it if there BP was 250.

I can lift a lot heavier on incline than on flat for dumbells and the exact reverse for a barbell.

Push ups are actually better then bench press(I know it's hard to believe). A recent study has shown that push-ups activates your pecs, triceps and even your shoulders more then a bench press. That's why a guy that can do a lot of push ups can bench more thn a guy who just benchs and can't to push-ups. I have been doing push ups for years now, without doing any bench and the first time I did a bench press(a week ago) I ws benching 265 with ease. I only weigh 165 and benched 265x10(it's amazing I know). This fact and the study prove that, the old saying bench is better than push ups is false and an old wives tale, good luck and take what I said into account if you really want to get big and ripped.
