So I got an amazing nut sack. I got it mainly to make almond milk, and it is working great. I can squeeze it to get it all out and not just sit there waiting for it to drain. I have used it several times now. The problem is it is starting to smell moldy, I suppose like moldy nuts. It is pretty bad and I don't want to use it as I don't want to get sick or even make the milk taste bad. I don't want to put in the dishwasher cause it may melt. And I don't want to put it in the washing maching cause it might get torn up, or then make the milk taste like detergent(had this happen with an old cheese cloth bag). Any ideas what I can clean this with? That won't make the milk taste bad. Thanks. This is the type of sack I am referring to:

I thought about using bleach, but was worried it may effect the taste or damage the sack. How much bleach with how much water should I use? I hate bleach, seems whenever I use that I find bleach white spots on my clothes later on. But I may have to try it.
No way am I going to scrub all the noooks and crannys with a brush. And I don't want to use vinegar, cause I used that to clean a coffeemaker once and my coffee smelled/tasted like vinegar for a week.2 time survivor of The Great Misc Outages of 2022

How is this not a 5 star thread yet?
Dess, I'm sorry to hear about the odor emanating from your nut sack. The advice from the nut sack creator is "To clean: turn the bag inside out, empty the contents and wash with water or a drop of dish soap. Hang to dry."
My advice however is a little different: Rub your sack repeatedly, with a nice gentle soap. Really get a good lather going. Don't be mad at it, just let it know that you care about it, and want it to smell nice.
Wait...What were we talking about?
