Dumping her because she has asperges would make you a total scumbag. Not whiteknighting here but it only makes people somewhat different in social situations, and very often they are highly intelligent. Sometimes I think I might prefer a girl like this rather than some beauty therapist who goes out to clubs all the time, and cant hold a conversation about anything other than mtv, parties, nightclubs, and boyfriends.

For those unaware:
Asperger syndrome or Asperger's syndrome or Asperger disorder is an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. It differs from other autism spectrum disorders by its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development. Although not required for diagnosis, physical clumsiness and atypical use of language are frequently reported.
Me and my roommates (we're all miscers) this upcoming year got a random roommate assigned to us and we think he may have this.

i didn't know the specifics of asperger's / autism, until she told me, then i literally spent 8 straight hours reading stuff up, eg, ppl's experiences being with someone asperger's. My heart felt kind of torn when it realise that asperger's is a form of autism... and i guess it explains why she's generally emotionally distant

If you liked her before you found out, this shouldn't change your view of her. *Most people with aspergers are pretty normal from the ones I've met, they just struggle with certain social nuances as well as things like sarcasm and body language. *In any case, there are some whose condition is incredibly mild and barely noticeable. *

Meh, keep in mind the "popular" thing to do among medical professionals is to diagnose everybody who comes through their door with the fad disorder of the day, which happens to be "autism spectrum" stuff nowadays. 20 years ago ADD was all the rage (before it became ADHD).
Most people who hang out on internet forums probably have some symptoms similar to Asperger's, such as social awkwardness and perhaps intense interest in certain subjects, but that doesn't mean they all have phychological disorders.

OP, you are one cheeky kunt mate I swear. You've been going out with this girl so you knew what her personality was like and I assume you like her personality to some degree if you'vecommittedto beingboyfriendand girlfriend. Now you find out there's a name for her type of personality (I know it's a disorder but all this new information has done is designate a name to the way she is) and you want to dump her?
Grow up
You've no age displayed but I have a feeling this should be in the teen misc, adults aren't this superficial are they?

mate its a neurological disorder, something to do with biology, can't be fixed with medication, its who you are just, and its genetic, i don't know, im definitely not an expert, as i've only had less than a week of knowledge about this issue. But i don't think i can spend time with someone in long term wise, knowing that they have this condition (srs). and adults and teens can be both equally shallow
the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
