Need Help with a Vegetarian Diet

Hey guys/girls, The title really says it all. since I've turned vegetarian I've found it easy to lose body fat but have found it really hard to gain size and muscle mass. My diet at the moment sucks and was wondering if anyone had any hints on diet and also any type of*protein*shakes that could assist me with this. any type of help would be fantastic.

Well - you'll have a hard time growing serious muscle-mass on veggies and fruits. If you are going 100% vegetarian - then Soy Protein powder is pretty much your only choice here. Consume enough to meet your protein needs and you should do well enough.
Unless you are one of those weird vegetarians that allow themselves Whey and other sources of protein. In that case, load up on that.

*But seriously. What's wrong with meat?

You're confusing vegan and vegetarian. Vegetarians can eat dairy and eggs, which would extend to protein powders (whey, casein, egg, etc.) along with milk and cheese.

OP you should have zero problem gaining on a vegetarian diet. I eat vegetarian 99.99% of the time (only time I don't is at restaurants with a lack of decent veggie options :x). 3-4 protein shakes, eggs, cheese, dairy, etc. No problem.
All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone.

Mix it with any type of berry's, banana, etc...

If you can have dairy get tons of greek yogurt or cottage cheese. You can also mix these with the protein powder to make "sludges" (do a search for epic sludge thread) or use these to mix into shakes.

there is rice, pea, and hemp protein powder for vegans. If someone does not like or want meat, do not suggest it...it is their personal choice.
