    Whey Protein - Increased thirst?

Had my first protein 'shake' with milk earlier, tasted good man was like chocolate milk.
Went gym about 20mins later, did 20mins cardio then used machines.
Felt better during resistance machines, not as tired on 4th set, but was insatiably thirsty when I finished up, despite drinking all the way through my workout.

Is there some science behind this, like does whey make your thirst sense stronger or something?

Metabolism requires water, if you increased your calorie intake you need to increase your fluid intake in order to account for the extra calories so they can be properly digested and absorbed.

Higher protein intake can increase your thirst.

By the way, I hope you know that you get no special benefit from consuming a whey protein shake. You can consume solid whole foods and get at least the same results in terms of bodyweight and composition.

Agreed. I bumped up my calorie intake by an extra 800 calories per day (majority coming from lean proteins and some extra whey shakes) while on a bulking cycle of Kre-Akalyn & beta-alanine. Water intake went from approximately 2 gallons per day to 3. Felt much thirstier throughout the process.

protein and fats are diuretics, expelling water from your system, so up the water
