i do this way too frequently...i did the same with my ear infection that i had about a year ago; i almost didn't mind thousands of microorganisms living off of me and producing toxins that destroyed my cells and damaged the tissue surrounding my ear just because it produced an odd smell that i sort of enjoyed.

but ever since doing this, i make sure to clean my belly button when i shower. i actually saw pictures where scientists at a convention plated the bacteria from their belly buttons and it was less than pleasant.
