You may talk smack once you hook grip over 505 sir
Seriously though, I just never felt in a good position with it and I don't have the feel like I could grind out a weight if I was in the position do grind. I gave it 15 weeks on all my working sets....it was a good run.
I'm not scared of a tear but I'm not here claiming to be superman either. I have a preexisting injury to it from a strongman contest prep gone horribly wrong.

Yeah just be smart about it. When does your bicep hurt doing deads? Is it at a certain weight or doing reps?

We knew this was going to be a marathon. That's what he signed up for. He felt, and some others, due to a week that wasn't full of pr's, etc. that he was off track. He didn't miss a work out, he had a good decline session that week and was less than a 100% going into that week. He let it get away from him. Everything he learned on squat when faced with a grinder, went away, etc. Watching his video from last night, he is clearly stronger, in way better condition.
So, the long answer is, yes, eventually...we haven't started the real PL training yet.Squat: 1,040

It will be subtle changes and/or additions.
As for the hook, I still say it's a better way to pull but, it can take time to really get the groove with it. I have pulled 700 geared with the hook but, even today, after trap and floor pulls, my thumbs were on fire.Squat: 1,040

If nothing else, it will allow you to train longer and harder and prevent injury. You didn't seem to have any issue with going back to the alt grip. If I tried the alt grip, I'd crap myself, It feels so off and awkward but, I remind you again, I fooled with this grip for a long, long time.

nice lifting boss. I recently went back to hook grip cause all u ****gs made it sound like sooo much fun. It feels a lot more natural to me. Doing mixed grip, I always used underhand grip with my left, and that bicep has always given me trouble.
But, Ive also never hook gripped the weight your doingMy 5/3/1 progress can be found here.

damn bro, you have a lot of raw strength. still looking like a lot of core movement to me out of the hole but you power through it like nothing (still dont know as much about power form squatting as i should). that would topple me.
how did you hurt your bicep if you dont mind me asking. when i said i dont worry about it it's because i dont feel i pull enough for it to be a concern. i worry more about doing something ot my back or lat randomlyThe dumber people think you are, the more surprised they're going to be when you kill them. - William Clayton

I honestly hurt it training like an idiot.
Cliffs...
Hit PR dead @ 565
Try to pull 585 the next week and miss. Did assistance of rack pulls over 600 with no straps then finish with Husafel carries. Tweaked it.
Stones the following week up to 330 and car deads.
Take one week off and the compete in a strongman comp.Better Body Sports
