I'm iffy on the log at best but I've got some time to train it.
I do have a family vacation planned from July 19-31 so when I get back I'll have 7 1/2 weeks to peak for it. Hopefully I can at least maintain what little strength I have while I'm gone but I'm honestly not worried about it.
We've never taken an extended trip as a family before so I'm much more excited about that than the contestBetter Body Sports

I'm long overdue for taking the family somewhere, and I'm getting reminded of that more and more often.
Yesterday I got the "Oh but we can drop everything and go out of town for your powerlifting meets".
I couldn't really talk my way out of that one, because what I do in my head as far as putting everything into improving my ****ty total, and what it looks like in the real world are two totally different things.
I train and obssess about powerlifting like it's my job, even though it isnt.. It's hard to explain to a woman that you want an "elite total" before you die. Because women don't understand working hard for something for more than 5 years

although I'm lucky in the fact that my wife likes to do that kind of stuff with me. She wants to do the next powerlifting meet with me, so we tested her deadlift yesterday; 185lbs with no belt at 130lbs bodyweight, and made it look easy... fuuu.. she's gonna have a better total than me, lolPL: 400/280/475

I understand this 100%! I feel like I spend a lot of my day thinking about numbers..or staring at my workout journal..trying to figure out how to ramp up my totals.
Same with vacations, we are heading to Florida June 8th..I skipped deload to throw in another cycle..which will end that day. Im already trying to figure out how I can swindle myself into the gym the morning we leave!My 5/3/1 progress can be found here.

definitely lucky.
i got mine to lift with me twice. first time she deadlifted she pulled 95 like it was nothing.
I think she would have been decent at the lift, but she said "this is your thing not mine".
probably for the best, she'd outbench me in a year or two.
Good to know I'm not the only one who does this.
I thought I had a problem.

Stephanie actually wanted me to bring them so we could do some workouts together in the morning, so I said fine by me. My pasty white skin can use a tan and any bit of conditioning work is better than not doing anything hwen I'm there.
