well you "socialise" with powerful people leading you to have powerful contacts and connections, and the more higher you are on the social ranking the more connections you make, for example, connections come in handy if you need to borrow a private jet for the weekend, or you want to land a job at a top law firm.......basically connections equals wealth.

You dont make money from this, if you are a socialite you are already wealthy either through family money or trust funds or you are newly acquired to wealth through your own business ventures, this isnt middle class wealth, this is upper class wealth which means some of these peopl are Multi-millionaires
