My mom knows Im trying to gain weight so she just bought me a few boxes of clif bars. I just want to know if the nutritional quality is okay to eat like every other day. I play soccer every day and lift every other day and so on my off lifting days I was going to use eat them to replenish carbs but I was wondering about the sugar? Thanks

Cliff bars are amazing. Bring one with me er' day for a snack during class.
My favorite flavors are black cherry almond ( tastes like candy ),
blueberry crisp, and the oatmeal one.Human Spaceflight Engineer

Dont love them but there are worse bars out there. *They are pretty calorie dense, so if that is your goal and you like it then have at it. *I do recall the maple nut being pretty much my favorite of them.

OP i'm in the same exact position as you (endurance athlete), and it's definitley understandable that you need to replenish glycogen inbetween workouts. I just bought a box of cliff bars today since school Cross country is starting up again. These bars look GREAT for replenishing. Vitamins & minerals, Carbs, protein and minimal fat. Minimal fat is good since it won't delay carbs to your muscles. The flavors look good to.

Wow. No soy hate yet. That's amazing. I'm a fan as well. Op no one food is good or bad (other than ones containing synthetic trans fats). Eat what you like that fits macros

They've been great hiking and traveling. Delicious flavors ( black cherry almond?, carrot cake). They do not provide enough satiety to replace a meal, though, even 2-3 of them. *They provide the same level of satisfaction as say a snickers candy bar, to include the sweet-tooth pain in the back of my mouth. I hear their protein builder line is okay.

Banana nut is -- by far -- the best.
Apply IIFYM and you'll be fine. IIFYM people will tell you that it's fine to indulge in moderation, as long as you keep within your macros. I personally would consider a Clif bar to fall in the "indulgence" category, although there are some notable nutritional advantages to eating a Clif bar instead of just a regular chocolate bar or something. As long as your macros are in check and you're active, there's nothing at all wrong with a few Clif bars a week. I just wouldn't go overboard with them. They aren't very high in fat or protein so they won't do much to help you hit your macros. They are also pretty high in sugar, which you should consider if you find yourself susceptible to energy crashes after eating sugar, or you tend to get hungrier after a sugar-induced insulin spike.
That having been said, I REALLY wish my mom bought me Clif bars.My guilty pleasure: excessive cardio.
