Difference between getting fats from nuts (etc.) and flaxseed/fish oil?

What's the difference? What's the benefits of flaxseed & fish oil compared to things like almonds & peanut butter?

This one I know about. You need to get them from fish oil or flaxseed. They are much healthier, and a more complete source for omegas. Some nuts can be very fattening, so you should avoid those. Almonds and pecans have a low glycemic index, so if you want to eat nuts, those would be better.

epa and dha... best bet is fish oil, flax is ala and has to be converted, how much is converted is dependent on your metabolism and other things.

most nuts besides walnuts are good for omega 6... but almonds/brazil/walnuts have the most...
cd, I'm curious as to what nuts you think should be avoided...

sesame seeds/pine nuts/sunflower seeds/pumpkin seeds also have good fats so don't forget those.

All nuts can be fattening, the key is portion control, I too am curious about which nuts you think should be avoided though cd.

Nuts are like any other food moderation is key. Over indulging on any food can lead to gaining fat. Eating nuts or even avocadoes or olive oil in moderate portions is a very healthy way to add fat into your diet.
